3 May 2008 - Elaine and Vixen ride to success

Our congratulations to Elaine Button who is the first member of our group to qualify for the RDA National Championships this year. The Yorkshire & Cleveland Region’s dressage qualifiers will not take place until 25^th May but Elaine, who lives in the East Riding of Yorkshire, qualified at Grantham, coming second in her class with a score of 70.45%.

Elaine, who has multiple disabilities as a result of a horrific road accident, has had great success in competitions lately. She came third in a British Dressage competition at Vale View and also did the Para British Dressage section in which she came first. This has qualified her for the Para Dressage Spring Championships near Coventry in mid May and means she’s currently in the top twenty Para Dressage Riders in British Dressage.

Elaine has clearly formed a great partnership with Vixen, a Chestnut mare owned by Mrs Julie Hyslop of Vale View Equestrian Centre, Leics. Mrs Hyslop has kindly allowed Elaine to ride Vixen in competition and Elaine is delighted and very grateful for this opportunity to compete on her and just hoping and praying that she stays in good health so that she can make the most of it. We wish Elaine and Vixen every success for the summer.
