19 Jan 2006 - Kathryn's Talents Earn Her A Bursary

Kathryn Wheelock, our rider/helper, has been awarded a bursary from the government-funded Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) which provides backing for world class young sports people who are studying at college or university. The support offered includes assistance to help pay for training, travel, physiotherapy and equipment over the next year.

Kathryn recently competed in the Paralympic Winter Qualifier at Vale View, Leicestershire, the most northern venue of the qualifiers. She returned with no less than a first and a second place. She is now aiming for the Parlympic Dressage World Championships at Hartpury, Gloucestershire, in 2007 and the Beijing Paralympic in 2008. However, her first requirement is a new horsebox for Indi and Winnie, her two horses.
Kathryn is studying for BHS exams at Craven College, Skipton and Myerscough College, Lancashire.
