11 May 2006 - May Day Dressage & Handy Pony Competition

Richard Ward, General Manager of Albion Chemicals (Gomersall) presented rosettes to all the winners of our Dressage and Handy Pony (aka 'A Walk in the Country) Competitions held on the May Day Bank Holiday. The riders, who were joined at Acrecliffe Equestrian
Centre, by other competitors from the newly formed Hebden Bridge RDA Group, had a full day of competition in preparation for the coming Regional Qualifying
Events for the annual RDA National Championships.

Class winners from the Otley & District Group were: Megan Herbert (Shandy), Mandy Schofield (E.T.), Bernadette Spellman (Hillbro' Crispin), Helen Collett (Sapphire), Lynne Burnley (Blue), Peter Olby (Major), Alice Jones (Silver), Paul Kitchingman (Major), Anna Prosser (Silver) and Roger Ramsdale who won the senior Tack & Turnout prize.

The riders and ponies all enjoyed themselves, thanks to some excellent
organisation by Elaine Goodall, our chief instructor, and trainee
instructor Carole Dickason and also a lot of hard work by many other volunteers.
