24 Jun 2006 - Leeds Building Society Gives Donation Towards Purchase of New Dressage Horse

Leeds Building Society have donated £1,000 towards buying us a dressage horse! We now have several riders who are competing at G.B. Paralympic trials level and, to enable them to fulfill their potential, we are saving up to buy a specialist dressage horse which will be ridden only by experienced dressage riders.

The riders who would benefit immediately from the purchase of a dressage specialist include Richard Bromley and Bernadette Spellman, who came 4th & 5th in the Paralympic Talent Spotting Trials at Vale View (Leics.) in March (2nd & 6th in the February Talent Spotting) and Mandy Schofield, winner of the Federation of Disability Sport's 'Most Promising Senior Newcomer Award 2006'.
However, encouraged by the success of their fellow riders, under the expert tutelage of the group's chief instructor Elaine Goodall, there are several more young hopefuls waiting in the wings and excelling in both group and regional competitions on Sylvester, our own dressage pony, currently sponsored by Waitrose.
