27 Jan 2007 - Kathryn Beats All the Able-bodied Riders

Our Irish international para-equestrian, Kathryn Wheelock, who also helps us as a volunteer, took part in the Manor Grange Stud affiliated British Dressage competition on Saturday 13th January and came away with one first and one second place rosette. Furthermore, in class E44 she achieved 64% and beat all the able-bodied riders.

The next day Kathryn was back in training with the rest of the Yorkshire & Cleveland RDA's Regional Dressage Squad at Middleton Park Equestrian Centre. Under coach Cathy Burrell, she worked on counter canter and shallow loops in canter to ensure that her horse Indi doesn't change legs and put in flying changes when not supposed to. Other Otley & District RDA members who took part in the training session were Mandy Schofield, Bernadette Spellman, Elaine Button and Lynne Burnley.
