4 Feb 2007 - Crispin is Top Veteran Dales Pony

We were delighted to hear this week that one of our horses has won a prestigious trophy. Hillbro' Crispin, owned by instructor Elaine Goodall, was awarded The Dales Pony Society Lizzy Shield. This is presented to the Veteran (16 years or over) Dales Pony with the most points in performance competition in the U.K.

Crispin had a busy year in 2006 helping his riders firstly to qualify (at RDA centres in Middlesbrough and Leeds) for the RDA National Championships in Gloucestershire and then to come home from there with a second, a third, a fourth and a fifth place.

But Crispin didn't only win the Dales Pony Society?s veterans? shield: he was also placed 6th overall. This is an excellent result for a very popular horse.

Otley & District RDA members who rode Crispin to success last year are Bernadette Spellman, Richard Bromley, Lynne Burnley, Sarah Brewerton, Anna Prosser, Tanika Foster and Alice Jones.
