17 Mar 2007 - Abbi Will Run 10K for Us

On 20th May this year one of our most experienced volunteers, Abbi Robinson (seen here inspecting Sylvester before Josh rode him to success in last summer's RDA National Championships), will abandon the habits of a lifetime and run. In fact she will run quite a long way (we hope) in the Manchester 10K.

According to Abbi "I am going to do the unthinkable (for me) and run the Manchester 10k. I have never liked running and I've certainly never been any good at it but my Mum and I will be running together and it's a complete first for us both."

"I've tried to mis-guide many of you into the belief that I am sporty but I'm afraid the truth of the matter is I'm hockey goalkeeper, I chose to be a goalie because you don't have to run more than 16 yards at any one point and when I was younger we were allowed to miss out on the warm up jog! Covering 10 kilometres in 1 go will certainly be a challenge but if I can raise some cash doing it I'll try my hardest. "
All donations will go to our group where Abbi has been a wonderful volunteer for four years since her time at university, not only helping with the usual lessons but also with long weekends taking riders and horses to competitions and with RDA holidays.
