OTLEY & DISTRICT RIDING for the DISABLED GROUP

11 Oct 2007 - Could you help us?

We would love to have more volunteers for Sunday afternoons, especially between 12.30pm-2.30pm when our need is greatest. Are you over 14? (We don't mind how much over!) Could you help us? No previous experience with either horses or disabled people is necessary though anyone with such experience is even more welcome. We'll teach you all you need to know - leading, sidewalking, tacking up, taking horses to and from stables, mounting etc. All you will need is a strong pair of shoes - wellies will do but NOT trainers - and a good sense of humour.

If you'd like to know more about being a volunteer click on the picture BELOW to access our 'Meet the Helpers' page.
Also, you can read what Abbi says about her time volunteering with us by clicking on the September 27th 2007 News Item. Abbi was with us throughout her time at university and even for a year after that. Some of our best helpers are young people who either come to us while at school then leave when they go to university or who join us as university students then have to move away to wherever their jobs take them.

If you'd like to come along and see if this is something you could do, just click on the 'Contact' button or call 0845 2416395. Thank you.
