7 Dec 2007 - Our thanks to Ledston Charity Ball

Otley and District RDA was just one of the local charities which, this year, benefits from a donation from the 2007 Ledston Charity Ball. On behalf of the group, our Charities Officer, Carole Dickason, received a donation of £1,000 at the Chequers Inn, Ledsham on Saturday 24 November 2007. The committee of the Ledston Charity Ball invited all the beneficiaries to the presentation and there was an opportunity for each charity to talk about their project, in front of a gorgeous log fire. Everyone was made most welcome and enjoyed tea or coffee and biscuits on a rather dull and damp November day.

The Ledston Charity Ball has been an annual event since 1992 and takes place each summer in the glorious grounds of Ledston Hall, West Yorkshire. This years event raised £20,000, half of the money going to the main charity which, this year, was Heart Research UK and the other half being distributed between specific local charities; Otley and District RDA is very fortunate to be one of them.
